Dear Highline College,
I am pleased to share that the 2027-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and WPEA has been successfully ratified by both parties. This important milestone reflects the dedication, partnership, and commitment demonstrated throughout the negotiation process and represents a meaningful achievement for our college community.
Reaching this agreement required thoughtful dialogue, careful consideration, and a shared commitment to supporting our employees and the future of the institution. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this outcome.

Negotiations are rarely simple, but the respect, professionalism, and partnership demonstrated throughout this process made a successful outcome possible. The willingness of both teams to engage in meaningful dialogue and remain focused on solutions is worthy of recognition.
I would also like to offer special recognition to Melanie Lawson, Vice President of Student Services and Christi Hill, WPEA Staff Representative for their leadership throughout the negotiations. Their efforts helped foster productive conversations, strengthen relationships, and guide the process to a successful conclusion.
This agreement reflects our collective commitment to one another, to our students, and to the mission of Highline College. I am thankful for the dedication and care shown throughout the negotiations and look forward to continuing our work together in service of our college community.
