Good afternoon Highline College,

During the Dec. 11, 2025 meeting of the board, the Board of Trustees announced that Dr. John R. Mosby will not be returning to the role of President of Highline College. The board would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to Dr. Mosby for the work he has done in support of students, faculty, and staff during his tenure with us. The past several years brought unprecedented challenges. Thank you to Dr. Mosby for everything he did to advocate for our students and employees during that time.

Effective immediately the board has appointed Dr. Jamilyn Penn as Interim President of Highline College. Dr. Penn will serve in this capacity until such time that a permanent candidate has been appointed. More information about the presidential search process and timeline will be shared with campus in early 2026. Additionally, more information will follow from Dr. Penn about the appointment of an Interim Vice President of Student Services in the coming days.
