April 14, 2025: Highline College Summer Hours 2025

Good afternoon Highline College staff members,

Beginning Monday, June 23, 2025, Highline College campus will switch to “summer hours”. This means that most departments will provide services Monday through Thursday and will be closed to students and the public on Fridays. These summer service hours will be observed through Sunday, August 31, 2025.

All Staff

  • Please keep in mind that Personal Leave and Personal Holidays must be entered as 8 hours (not 10 hours) no other leave is needed for the additional 2 hours. The personal leave/holidays are for a full workday, whether it is an 8-hour or 10-hour day; partial hours cannot be used for personal day(s).
  • Holidays are now to be designated/marked/indicated on timesheets (using scheduled hours). When the system processes an OT eligible employee’s timesheet, it will pay out holiday pay once it determines eligibility status.
  • Employees should only report “Holiday Worked” if the employee worked on the holiday. Managers should send back timesheets where Holiday Worked time is incorrectly reported.

Managers

  • PRIOR TO June 23, 2025 – You will need to update your direct reports’ work schedules in PeopleSoft/ctcLink to reflect the temporary 4-10 schedule. Use the linked instructions for a reminder on how to do this! *Note: When adding a new row for the schedule change, select the plus sign at the top row (not at the bottom).
  • Some units may choose to retain Friday service hours due to business needs. These decisions require prior written approval from the appropriate Executive Cabinet representative. Requests to retain Friday service hours during summer are due to Executive Cabinet by May 5, 2025 to allow for timely notice to employees staffing those areas.

Please submit any Human Resources related questions to hrstaff@highline.edu and our knowledgeable colleagues will get back to you.

Thank you,

Danielle
